Holiday Date Night Recipe with Japanese Wagyu Skewers! 5 Japanese Wagyu Beef Skewers @wagyuman_official Kosher salt For the Glaze 3 cloves garlic, grated ½ cup soy sauce ¼ cup Rice wine vinegar ¼ cup Panca paste 2 tablespoons guava paste 2 tablespoons honey For the glaze, add all of the ingredients to a small sauce pot and bring to a rapid simmer. Break up the guava paste using the back of a spoon or rubber spatula. Stir frequently until reduced by ⅓ or until the sauce coats the back of a spoon. Strain and reserve for glazing. 1-2 hours before your date arrives, remove the wagyu skewers from their vacuum sealed packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and store in the fridge until ready to cook. Once your date arrives, throw the cast iron skillet in the oven to preheat the skillet to 450F. The skewers are v marbled and pretty thin, so they need to be cooked quickly over high heat to develop a crust without overcooking. Cook for 1 minute on each side. Use an offset spatula to help you press down on the skewer and flip. Once flipped, brush the prepared glaze onto the skewers and remove from heat! Allow them to rest for 2 minutes and enjoy! Serve this with a sesame crema or as is with flakey salt! Start with these and a cheeky sake sour and you’ll be sure to impress!!
